Rate Limits and Quotas
To ensure platform stability and protect against noisy neighbor effects, Risu Mail enforces granular rate limits and monthly quotas adjusted by plan tier.
Plan-Specific Concurrency
Free Tier: 2 requests per second (RPS) burst, 30 requests per minute sustained.
Pro Tier: 20 requests per second burst, 2,000 requests per minute sustained.
Enterprise Tier: Custom limits up to 500 RPS with dedicated queue priority.
Public Token Restrictions
Tokens used for Instant OTP (client-side) are restricted to 5 attempts per IP address per hour to mitigate brute-force and scraping attempts.
Hard vs Soft Quotas
Monthly quotas are 'hard' limits. Once reached, any attempt to send via API or SMTP will result in a 403 'Quota Exceeded' error until the first day of the next billing cycle.
